And I thought I was conceited

I've realized that if I am to maintain my "friendship" with a select group of individuals, I really should stop reading their blogs.

Why, you ask?

While I believe in freedom of speech and thought, I don't believe in making such condescending remarks about others, or placing yourself on a high horse above others just because they don't share a similar "passion". It's fine and all to be passionate. Passion's a good thing. But there's a fine line between excessive passion and fanaticism. If anything, it impairs your judgment. Some people know that, and that's fine. The problem is, however, when certain people don't realize that their over-zealous mindset can be sort of twisted. And then they expect the entire world to conform to that. I'm sorry to say this, but it's insulting.

Such pompous words. You've really lead such a fortunate and extravagant life, haven't you, to be able to sprout such words?

I guess if you're happy like that it's fine. If you're surrounding by others who share a similar mindset, then that's good.

For years I've tried to keep an open mind about it, because I respected the fact that you had something you truly believed in. I was afraid that it'd eventually lead to something like this. It's depressing. But to be completely honest, you wouldn't care about that, would you? I respect individuals who have something they're truly passionate about, something they find meaning in, but a line has to be drawn somewhere.

Fanaticism is not passion. Beyond that line, it's just conceit.

Random 2

I just realized that I haven't drawn/painted a single thing ever since the start of this year.

Must.Find.Time.

Heck, time isn't much of a factor (even if the exams are near). It's the mood that counts.

Must.Have.Mood.

I miss the good ol' times when I woke up in the middle of the night at about 3 a.m. just to sketch/paint, just because I 'felt like it'. :(

Compared to that, the AMH is beginning to look quite distasteful -__-

On a brighter note, at least I won't have to worry about accommodation during my 1st month at moruya next year. Luckily enough, my preceptor offered to arrange for temporary accommodation. I'm just curious about one thing, though...is it going to be in a cabin? an ensuite villa (unlikely, LOL)? ...or a caravan? The reason being, it's apparently a camping site for tourists, and has like, 3 different types of accommodation. Although staying in a caravan sounds pretty interesting (yes, I haven't stayed in one before...I'm guessing it'll be pretty much be like staying in an oversized van?), staying in one for about a month? Hmm...

Oh well, it's only AUD$6.30 per night, so I shouldn't be complaining :D

"Coffee, milk and tea provided in the kitchen." Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

LOL.

One a.m. post

Living in a regional area must really have a huge impact on me, both physically and mentally.

My back aches. My eyes are sore. My feet hurts.

It's like my normal aging process has quintipled, or has managed to follow some exponential growth curve ever since I arrived here :(

And would someone please remind me why the heck I'm investing so much time and effort (and $$) on doing something I don't even enjoy? I can't but help feel a little jealous each time I hear of some winner of some manga competition. And I can't help but feel a little twitch in my chest every time I pass by the Arts School. I guess what could've been was just not meant to be ;_;

It's one a.m. in the morning and exams are near. I blame it on the hormones.

Homeopathy

Apparently as the dilution of the remedies increase, so does its "potency". All that while the actual "remedy" probably doesn't even contain a single molecule of the original substance.

And how do homeopaths explain that?

"The process of succussion must alter the solvent, giving it a 'structure' that biological systems can detect" that's related to the 'memory' of the solvent.

Oh.

So, going by their logic, the same logic also applies to our drinking water supply. So theoretically, no matter how filtered, how purified, how treated the water we drink, in the end we're still drinking faecally-contaminated (amongst many other impurities) H20. That is, of course, since solvents have that little "memory" thing going for them, right?

LOL.

Yelly Weekend

Despite the fact that I was smiling in the pic, it really was only a courtesy smile. I was pretty miffed at the fact that I had to fork out 30 bucks for like, what? 2 sausages on mash. Maldini's is a definite no-go, guys.
The veal was overcooked. That was already a couple of negative points. Good meat, in the wrong hands, is no different from poor quality meat. That awful bacon that they'd wrapped around the veal was just...awful. What's a worse term for awful? Does the term hypertension ring a bell, people? Heck, even the mash tasted like it had been doused with salt and butter. There should be a limit on how much you douse your food with salt.

Even poor Yena fell victim to their risotto, which was salted way past the hypertensive point :(

...What the hell was this again? Someone, enlighten me please.

"Yelly" XD ...+ Ms Hoe lol

Okay, I have no idea how on earth this random pic came about in my "Yelly Weekend Pic Folder", but that was dinner from 2 days ago lol...homecooked deep fried garlic prawns, tamagoyaki-styled eggs with dashi, and stir-fried salmon!

Yena posing with her asparagus chicken pie :P

Okay, so they're famous for their tiramisu. It was nice, but it wasn't the best I've tasted. And definitely not worth $12.50 per slice. Plus it was too sweet. For their mains they go for the hypertensive approach. For their desserts, they're trying to make us all diabetic. Maybe they've got some sort of deal with Eli Lilly. Hell, maybe even Aventis.

Oh, and this was just a complimentary pose for my sis, who refused to believe that my awesome lacy Victorian-esque gloves were of the finger-less kind ;P There you have it, skeptic :P

*Pukes* lol @ Ms Hoe
NB: I never intended to capture the famed "hiao pose", btw

I Hate UniDocs

...I am so blaming them if my job offer goes up in smoke.

Why?

Because they "accidentally" forgot to mention the fact that the vaccination was supposed to be at 0,1 and 6 weeks instead of 0 and 6 weeks.

Because they "forgot" to mention that I was supposed to come in about 1 month after the first jab.

And because their incompetence might cost me the job.

:(

Anyway, last Sat was the Tulip Fest in Hobart....Not as many tulips as I'd hoped, but nonetheless they were quite pretty (I'm looking forward to the Lavender season, btw :P)

Pictures XD

Isn't this awesome? Our pseudo-purikura pic! XD Guess who wrote those wobbly words? ahahah

My Ploughman's Lunch at Say Cheese :P....It was good, although I didn't expect there to be so much cheese and so little meat :3

...Lol wut?

Lol wut2 XD

Sitting on the "Boss Chair" at the Raincheck Lounge (hahahah Ally and I parked our butts on the chairs as soon as we spotted them...poor Cheri :P)

Okay, we're back to the Tulips again...you're probably wondering what's up with all the random-ness right? Lol heck I was lazy to rearrange them, so bear with me :P

Butterfly arrangement :)

Mr Bug!! So cute, isn't he? Unfortunately, his days are numbered...I suspect that 80% of the Helium has already leaked out :((...nevertheless, my faithful new friend accompanied me the whole day, from the Royal Botanical Gardens, to Say Cheese in Salamance and around the city when I was semi-shopping, to dinner at Saigon Kitchen, Raincheck Lounge, and finally, back to Unit 7 where he can hopefully have some sort of peaceful retirement :((

...By the way, for those who are wondering, Mr Bug is a purple ladybug (although initially I thought that he was a turtle :S).
