It snowed...maybe pigs will fly next.
Quite weird...apparently before the 11th of August this year, it hasn't been snowing in Hobart for about 20 years...not the kind of thick, fluffy snow you'd expect, but nevertheless, it was quite an unexpected sight. Funnily enough, just before that, my mom phoned and asked if it was snowing. I told her, "It hasn't been snowing for about 20 years; it's not very likely that it'll be snowing anytime soon." A couple of days later, it snows. Maybe my mom's a psychic. Who knows.
Celebrated International Night on the 15th of August (last Monday)...what a busy weekend. Was helping to wrap the wantons, springrolls and shape the 'tong yuen' balls, was busy collecting and making some decorations (drew some 'wau bulans' just to add to the decorations), while simultaneously trying to cram for my stats test. Debbie asked if I could help her paint a mural for her last Sunday, but since I was already knee-deep in all sorts of stuff I kinda had to turn her down...felt bad about that, but anyway, at least I'm still gonna help her design her T-shirt.
Will hopefully be posting up some pictures of International Night soon...Had loads of good food; in fact, the best so far this year in college...let's see...Had oriental-style pork, nasi lemak, curry puffs, spring rolls, fried wantons, fatijas, soy sauce chicken, fried 'mihun', sushi, korean pancakes, 'tong yuen', baclara, etc...Was seriously worth the effort. Everyone had heaps of fun. Oh, yeah...it started out with this fashion show, followed by Ela who sang an Italian song (I think)...she was seriously very good...I heard that she does concerts in Sydney or something...then came the 'international' quiz (that one was a little biased 'caused there was this table that had practically EVERY single nationality there...), and yeah, the best entertainment- the chilli-eating competition...The last two competitors were AJ and Suying...while AJ was flushed, sweating profusely, and seemed like he was ready to throw up after eating all that chilli (there was sambal, 'cili padi's, etc...), Suying was just standing there casually, trying to smother her giggles as she looked at her barely-survivng competitor. I think I don't have to elaborate further- you can guess who won. It was good fun, that night, and afterwards everyone gathered in my room and had a little chat which lasted about 1 something in the morning...(it would've been better if not for the fact that I had a class at 8 in the morning the next day...or should I say, that day itself...ended up getting less than 5 hours of sleep only...)
Just got back the latest results of my human bio quiz, which were completely screwed. Made a vow to do better in the next one, but I seriously don't think that it'll be possible, especially not when I have to hand in my stats assignment by next monday, and especially not when the next human bio quiz is next friday, the same day I'm having my chemistry mid-semester test. After that, I'll have my mid-semester break. During then, I'll have to complete my major report, my seminar presentation, and all the catching up with my studies.
I'm so dead.
My days of lazing and nonchalance have led to this short-lived enjoyment. So now I have to suffer.
Life is so fair. Too fair.
